The History Behind Our Medical
Dr. Md Nurul Islam Chowdhury General Practitioner (Male) – MBBS, FRACGP, DCH, MHP Dr. Md Nurul Islam Chowdhury is a highly skilled and compassionate General Practitioner with broad experience across all aspects of general practice. He earned his MBBS from Sylhet Osmani Medical College and began his medical career at the General Practice Clinic of Shahjalal University of Science & Technology. During this time, he also worked across several affiliated medical colleges in Sylhet, gaining significant experience in internal medicine and actively contributing to the teaching and supervision of medical students. In 2009, Dr. Chowdhury relocated to Australia, sponsored by SA Health in recognition of his research on antipsychotic medications conducted in Sylhet. Since then, he has served in various rural and regional communities across South Australia, including Loxton, Renmark, and Bordertown. His clinical journey has also taken him to rural areas in Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria, before he settled in the Northern Territory in 2023. Dr. Chowdhury is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and holds additional qualifications including a Diploma in Child Health (University of Sydney) and certification as a Mental Health Practitioner (University of Melbourne)

Dr. Papia Chowdhury is an experienced General Practitioner who has worked extensively in both rural and metropolitan areas over many years.
She has primarily practiced in Victoria and is well-acquainted with patients from diverse cultural and community backgrounds. Dr. Chowdhury has a special interest in managing chronic diseases and women’s health, including patients with complex medical conditions.
Since completing her Fellowship in General Practice with the RACGP, she has been committed to delivering a comprehensive and patient-centered approach to care, with a strong emphasis on continuity and follow-up.
She has a deep understanding of her patients’ needs and is proactive in taking timely and appropriate clinical action.
